From the 5th to 9th August 2024, Kenya and the United States held the seventh round of negotiations under the U.S.-Kenya Strategic Trade and Investment Partnership in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Kenya delegation was led by Principal Secretary for Trade Alfred K’Ombudo, while the US delegation was led by Assistant U.S. Trade Representative Constance Hamilton.

During this round of negotiations, Kenya and the United States addressed the draft agreement text concerning agriculture; customs, trade facilitation, and enforcement; environment; good regulatory practices; inclusivity; and workers’ rights and protections.
